Our Chicago production is searching for a part-time crew member with the capabilities to cover multiple positions. The areas are Video, Automations and Show Electrician. Show responsibilities include (dependent on actual show assignment): preshow check of all gear, rigging and system checks; extensive and detailed dimmer check and preset; running the components of a performer warm-up; running cues in appropriate systems and rail; monitoring onstage camera work and automations movements; troubleshooting any position-related issues; and assisting with changeover/ post show duties.

 

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, innovative and enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment. Extensive experience and knowledge of theatrical lighting systems and running shows is required, as well as technical run crew and some rigging. Theatrical video and automations experience preferred, but not required. Must be able to climb ladders and lift 50 pounds.

 

This is a part-time position that is paid hourly. As a run crew sub there are no guaranteed minimum hours. A flexible schedule with regular availability on nights and weekends is required.  Candidate must be available to work during the holidays (Thanksgiving through New Year’s) and weekday-day time during matinee season (March-June).
