Full-Time Facilities Engineer

Blue Man Productions, the parent company of the theatrical production Blue Man Group, is looking for a full-time Facilities Engineer to join the Facilities team.  The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of five properties in Manhattan, including two mixed-use buildings.  The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills and a basic knowledge of building trades.

Full Time Assistant Carpenter

Blue Man Group Chicago is seeking a full time Assistant Carpenter.  Under the direction of the Carpentry Supervisor, this position is responsible for attending daytime work calls as established by the Supervisor, including upkeep, repair, maintenance and research regarding scenic, rigging, and props elements.  Knowledge of carpentry, metal working, general facilities maintenance, and tool usage are essential. Full Time Carpenter is expected to maintain consistent availability and flexibility with scheduling. Though regular schedule is weekday/daytime, there are times when nights/ weekends are required. Candidate must be available to work during the holidays (Thanksgiving through New Year’s).

Part-Time Deck 2 Sub

Blue Man Group Chicago is seeking a part time Deck 2 crew person. This is a backstage run crew position whose responsibilities include an extensive and detail oriented props preset before the show as well as executing cues during the show. This position includes work with a video camera and past experience or knowledge is highly preferred. Technical theatre/props and run crew experience are preferred but not required. Lifting up to 50lbs is required for this position.

Front of House Team members support the seating of guests, handling patron issues and complaints, and help ensure an optimal environment in the house. This position reports to the Front of House Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a great team, working for a collaborative and fun entertainment organization.

Lighting & Video Supervisor

Blue Man Group at Universal Orlando seeks a full-time Lighting & Video Supervisor. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role in lighting and video within a theatrical or live concert setting. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative, proactive problem solver with exemplary leadership skills. The candidate should be extremely organized and have the ability to run and lead a busy department through a fluctuating show schedule.

 

Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling department staff, managing the daily operations of the department, running all show tracks, hiring and developing crew, departmental payroll, designing and operating theater rentals, as well as creating and managing the budgets for the department. The Lighting and Video Supervisor must also work collaboratively with all other supervisors and managers within the company to meet all artistic requirements for the show.

Part Time Stage Manager

Blue Man Group Boston is looking for a Part Time Stage Manager to begin immediately. 

 

This position’s responsibilities include calling the show when the full time Stage Manager cannot, and the flexibility to cover additional shows.  Increased flexibility over the student matinee season (April through June) and the holiday season (Thanksgiving through New Year’s) is required.  

 

Candidates must have Stage Management experience, be highly organized, flexible, enthusiastic and interested in working as a part of a Stage Management team.   Strong calling experience required and a musical background or experience calling musicals/operas/dance preferred.
